The Way of The Road

In the fall of 2020, we visited Oceanside, California, to spend a day with metalworker and motorcycle enthusiast Austin Dixon. We followed him from morning surfing to an afternoon in his welding workshop, ending with a sunset motorcycle tour through mountain roads.

The Way Home

Our third film follows surf photographer Erlendur Thor Magnusson as he explores Iceland's hidden adventures. The film showcases Elli's everyday life in Reykjavik and transitions into an adventure, following his journey into Northern Iceland's wilderness by car, boat, sled, and skis, seeking great waves and a new perspective on his homeland.

Our second Vaer film explores the craft and culture of America's coastal communities, highlighting the life and work of renowned surfboard shaper Ryan Lovelace. In collaboration with award-winning ocean filmmaker Morgan Maassen, this short documentary provides an artful and intimate interpretation of the beauty and humanity at the heart of modern surf culture.

The Urchin Diver

Vaer's first documentary explores the life of Conner Rhoads, a 2nd generation Urchin Diver in Ventura, California. The film highlights the challenges of independent fishermen and the decline of healthy kelp forests along America's Pacific coast, reflecting Vaer's deep connection to the ocean.
