In short, the G2 is a true tool watch—just as ready for a surf trip as it is for a red-eye flight. With a brushed 316L stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, and world-time caseback, this watch balances toughness with subtle, timeless aesthetics.

The Gilt GMT
Our Gilt GMT follows in that tradition, but reimagines it for modern utility. It features a black sunray dial—a subtle radial finish that catches the light without becoming showy—and a black aluminum bezel insert with gold numerals, nodding to the warmth and luxury of its predecessors.
Breaking from the purely monochrome palette, the G2 Gilt also includes a red arrow GMT hand, offering a pop of color and clear legibility when tracking a second timezone. This red-hand detail pays homage to classic 1950s GMT Master models like the ref. 6542, the original dual-time tool designed for Pan-Am pilots—reaffirming that, beneath its dressier finish, the Gilt GMT remains a practical, field-ready watch.

The Batman GMT
Vaer’s G2 Batman GMT builds on that lineage with a design that blends stealth aesthetics with practical clarity. Like its Swiss luxury predecessor, the G2 uses a two-tone bezel to indicate the 24-hour cycle: navy blue on the top half for daylight hours and black on the bottom half for night. But where Rolex used polished ceramic, we opted for a brushed anodized aluminum insert—lighter, more tool-oriented, and visually softer. This keeps the watch grounded in our core philosophy: form should follow function, but function should still look sharp.
The G2 Batman shares its silhouette and visual language with our higher-end G5 Meridian Automatic (which also offers a Batman configuration), but delivers a slimmer profile and a more accessible price point. At just 10.8mm thick, powered by a Swiss Ronda quartz GMT movement, and 15ATM water resistance, this watch is ideally suited for everyday wear, travel, or as an entry-point into the world of GMTs.
It’s the kind of watch that goes under the radar—but never off course. With its red arrow GMT hand standing out against the black sunray dial, and its muted color scheme, the G2 Batman reads cool under pressure. It’s perfect for those who favor technical clarity over attention-grabbing color, and want a GMT that’s just as appropriate at a morning meeting as it is in an airport lounge or out on a trail.

The Green GMT
More recently, Rolex introduced a left-handed green-and-black GMT Master II (ref. 126720VTNR), nicknamed the “Sprite,” which built on the Hulk’s legacy while returning to dual-time functionality. That watch helped solidify green as a permanent, if non-traditional, player in the GMT canon.
Vaer’s G2 Green GMT joins that lineage in a way that’s grounded, versatile, and unapologetically modern. Its deep emerald bezel matches the hue of our DS2 Green Diver and the premium the G5 Green Meridian Automatic. The watch features a green sunray dial, chosen for its subtle radiance, offering a restrained stage for the bolder elements of the design.

Designed for Real Life—And Real Use
- It’s built with screwdown crown and caseback seals that make it fully water-ready up to 15ATM—more than enough for serious immersion and sports use.
- It uses a Swiss Ronda GMT movement that tracks a second time zone via the dedicated GMT hand, which runs on a 24-hour cycle.
- The bi-directional bezel lets you track a third timezone with a simple twist, making it ideal for international travelers or remote workers.
- The G2’s lume is among the best in our lineup, with 15 layers of Grade A BGW9 Super-LumiNova applied to the markers and all three hands.

Built to Be Worn, Not Worshipped
At 39mm, the G2 is ideal for most wrists, particularly those in the 6.5” to 8.5” range. The case wears thin, slides easily under sleeves, and remains light enough for all-day wear. Thanks to our interchangeable 20mm straps and custom-fit steel bracelet, it also adapts seamlessly from surfboard to passport line.

Final Note: A Platform for the Future
These watches are available now, with limited inventory for each version. Like all Vaer watches, they come backed by our 2-year waterproof warranty. We don’t expect these colorways to last very long, and they likely won’t return until Fall 2025.
If you’ve been waiting for a quartz GMT with vintage looks, modern specs, and USA assembly, this is your moment.
